The Spring Carnival 2016 is done and dusted for another year and what a carnival it was!

First stop was Sydney. I would like to say a big congratulations to the ATC for organizing such a great carnival once again and special thanks to Brett deVine for being so helpful throughout the carnival.

Between the Group One racing fashion and entertainment, it truly was one of the best carnivals I have ever attended.
Below are my race looks from the carnival.

The racing codes were followed very well this Spring carnival with a great level of decorum. Girls avoided dresses that were too short, midriffs and party dresses which was great to see.

A trend that was common this carnival was the jumpsuit. I must say it was refreshing to see girls trying something new with the standout being Jennifer Hawkins rocking an all red Misha Collection jumpsuit in the Myer Marquee. Absolutely stunning!

Girls embraced Spring with lots of bright bold colours, floral prints and lace in and on their dresses and fascinators. My favourite trend of the season was definitely the boater and I saw plenty of them trackside.
Then it was off to Melbourne. With William Hill being the proud sponsor of the Cox Plate, I was lucky enough to spend the day in our Marquee which was right on the finishing line. Even with the rain and heavy winds, nothing was stopping race goes from watching the great mare Winx in attempt to win a consecutive Cox Plate and she didn’t disappoint!

Here are a few photos from the day shot by the talented @karonphotography

Every year it's a guessing game as to which international celebrity will touch down trackside during the carnival. However, this year, besides Usain Bolt speeding into town for Emirates Stakes Day, the Australian stars held their own and dominated the carnival showcasing lots of our wonderful Aussie brands and really doing our rag trade proud.

The Melbourne cup carnival has become an international spectacle and the coverage of our local social set and celebs went far and wide. I found it hard to choose my favorite looks from the carnival but here are a few that really stood out!

Always a favourite of mine! The beautiful Stephanie Claire Smith wearing a By Johnny dress, Nerida Winter headpeice and Bell Frankie + Co earrings and styled by Kate Gaskin. This was my favourite look of the carnival!!

The lady in red! Jennifer Hawkins wearing a Misha Collection jumpsuit and hat from Melissa Jackson Millinery. Loved that she did something daring!

Nadia Bartel wearing an Alex Perry dress with a Christie Millinery headpeice matched with killer Christian Louboutin shoes and Bulgari handbag. Stunning.

Elyse Knowles wearing a Herve Leger dress, Suzy O'Rourke headpiece matched with Mode Collective shoes, Sarina Suriano jewellery and Marc Jacobs bag. Styled by Dale McKie. LOVE!

Stylist to the stars Lana Wilkinson wearing a Cappellazzo Couture dress + corset, Aquazzura heels with a Suzy O'Rourke veil.

Jeniffer Hawkins again wearing a Talulah label dress, Natalie Bikicki headpeice & Giambattista heels. Styled by Marina Didovich.

Rachael Finch was glowing in a Toni Maticevski black and white dress on Derby Day matched with Kurtgeiger shoes.

Nadia Bartel again wearing a white Dion Lee dress, Suzy O'Rourke hat, Christian Louboutin shoes + bag. Styled by Lana Wilkinson.

Again, Stephanie Claire Smith wearing a black Misha Collection dress, N21 Official heels, headpiece by Natalie Bikicki, earrings by Clover accessories. Styled by Kate Gaskin.

It was a great weekend of sport with both the AFL and NRL grand finals, and two huge days of racing in both Sydney and Melbourne.

One of Sydney’s marquee days is Epsom Day, with three group one races to be won boasting three million dollars in prize money.

With Spring in full force, unfortunately for race goers, so was the wind but that didn’t stop the ladies and gents from putting their most fashionable foot forward.

Ladies were sporting the latest trends for the Spring Carnival including floral headpieces, feminine simplicity through block colored garments and the ‘boater’, which I opted for myself. The gents were all looking rather dapper with the general trend of slim lined navy suits.

I was lucky enough to be dressed by White Runway in a gorgeous red lace Love Honor dress for the day!

Not only do they have amazing dresses for the Spring Carnival but if you are looking for the perfect bridesmaid dresses or need an amazing birthday dress, check out their website.

This weekend is Moet and Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day so don’t forget to jump on and purchase your tickets from the ATC website! It will be an amazing day out!

The Spring Carnival was in full swing last Saturday for Optic White Stakes Day. Not only was I excited about heading out to the track to check out the fashion on the day, I was lucky enough to feature in Saturday’s Daily Telegraph showcasing the amazingly talented Heather McDowall millinery to kick off the carnival.

Draped in designer Sant Elia’s Allegra dress, mounted on the sweetest horse I have ever come across ‘Jabba the Star’, I was so excited to be given the opportunity to be apart of the shoot for the Daily Telegraph.

The fashion tip for the day was ‘Add a splash of red to your outfit’ and both the boys and girls listened. Whether they wore a red lip, splash of red in their dress or millinery, red nail polish and even some red ties - everyone managed to get on board!

With everyone in great spirits for a big day at the races, we can not forget the main attraction for the day and that was to catch a glimpse of the superstar mare Winx.

Winning her 11th consecutive race in the Group 1 George Main Stakes, it was the icing on the cake for another amazing day of racing!

For those who haven’t attended the races before or are thinking about heading out this weekend or the long weekend, make sure you jump onto the ATC website which I have attached below for you to purchase your tickets. It’s such a fun day out and great excuse to get all dressed up.

Big thanks to Her Wardrobe for my beautiful Thurley dress for the day. I will be out at Randwick on Epsom Day and excited to see you all their!
