Fitness is something I am very passionate about. Ever since a young age, I have been involved in a wide range of sports and physical activities including netball, athletics, Oztag, snowboarding and of course horse riding. Recently retired Group one jockey, Jim Cassidy, aka Dad LOL, always had to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle. Both of my sisters Nicole, Piper and myself were encouraged to live like this too. In order to keep his weight down, other than maintaining a strict diet, he would often box with his trainer Malcolm Ayoub and for big race days, when he really needed to lose those extra kilos, he's been known to box in the sauna.

At one stage, I was constantly exercising but wasn’t getting the results that I wanted. I decided to try boxing and to be honest at first I found it very difficult. I stuck with it and started regular sessions with Titan's trainer Nathan Lai who also trains jockey's Sam Clipperton and leading premiership jockey James McDonald. I now box with Lai once a week and try to do at least four boxing classes when I have the time. 

Titan’s gym in Coogee has great cardio classes that appeal to both men and women. I usually like to mix things up with a 30 minute hit class, total body and of course, boxing. For more details about the gym, click the link below. 

Boxing has not only made me fit physically, but mentally I feel stronger and more switched on. Feeling good about your self is very important and I can safely say that starting boxing is one of the best choices I have ever made. I used to feel a little insecure about my problem areas but I now feel fit and strong and have come to the conclusion that the saying is true: the more you put in, the more you get out.

I decided to do my first shoot at Coogee as it is somewhere I tend to do most of my outdoor exercise including the infamous 'killer stairs'. If you follow me on Snap Chat, you will know that I spend a lot of my time running up and down them.
